Why did O-Ren plant the dagger on the balcony?

Why did O-Ren plant the dagger on the balcony? - Potted plant and chair on balcony

Prior to the Crazy 88 fight scene in Kill Bill Vol. 1, before O-Ren says 'tricks are for kids,' she plants a small smurai, what looks to be a dagger, onto the balcony:

Both drawing the dagger and her samurai later on from their sheathes is done deliberately slowly.

Is there anything significant to why she'd leave the dagger and that there would be such a focus on her planting it in the balcony? It's a small detail but it stands out to me.

Does it mean anything?

What does O-Ren Ishii say when she sees Beatrix?

Fight against Beatrix and Death O-ren says, "That while a sword doesn't get tired, the Bride must be." The two trade comments and blows.

Why did they try to kill Beatrix Kiddo?

Beatrix told him that it was his baby she was pregnant with and not Tommy's. Bill felt guilty for sending his DVAS out to kill Beatrix and his unborn child. He decided to make amends by sparing her life after Elle infiltrated the hospital to end Beatrix's life, while she was in a coma.

Is Bill in the cartoon in Kill Bill?

The character actually being Bill is unconfirmed though and some believe it is just simply a henchman named Pretty Rikki. The extended version of the anime scene was rumored to have focused on O-Ren hunting down Pretty Rikki and killing him along with her exacting revenge against the mob boss Matsumoto.
