Why did they use CGI in this scene of "Hobbs & Shaw"? - White Paper Rolls on White Table

At the end of Hobbs & Shaw in the scene with the downed helicopter in the rain, it seemed very obvious to me that Jason Statham's character was extremely CGI'd when he was giving his bit of monologue.

I can't think of a reason they would have done this - it was rather jarring. Is there any explanation or reason why they would have used CGI here? Did they just not have Statham available? Did they just make up the scene after the fact?

What was the point of Hobbs and Shaw?

The plot of \u201cHobbs & Shaw\u201d involves a cyborg supersoldier named Brixton (Idris Elba) chasing down an MI6 agent (Vanessa Kirby), who has obtained a sample of a world-killing virus that Brixton was trying to deliver to his employers. Are Hobbs and Shaw friends?

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham are gracing our screens again in the Fast and Furious spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, after starring together in 2017's Furious 7. Even though Dwayne and Jason's characters don't exactly get along in the film, they actually have quite the cute bromance in real life.
