In season 4 episode 1 of Yellowstone, members of a militia attack Dutton ranch and are killed. When Rip shows up he tells Lloyd to get rid of the bodies. In episode 4, Jamie Dutton as the attorney general tells his brother Kayce that he stopped investigations into those 'murders'.

Who is behind the Dutton attacks?

Early on in season 4, we find out that the perpetrator of the Dutton attacks was a prisoner named Terrell Riggins. Riggins apparently hired a local militia to gun down, blow up, and ambush John, Kayce, and Beth. Later in the season, John has Jamie interview Riggins to find out more.

How did Jaime betray John Dutton?

He took away his support for Jamie's run at attorney general and turned him to a pariah on the ranch. Then Jamie became a real pariah after learning John had lied to him his whole life; Jamie was actually adopted\u2014he is not a Dutton.

Did Jamie order the hits on Yellowstone?

After showing him she has the evidence proving he was at least an unwitting accomplice in the attempt to wipe out the Dutton family, and shielded his biological father Garrett Randall (Will Patton) for setting up the hit, she tells Jamie she has set her affairs in order, so that she can kill him.
