In Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome when Max gets sent into the desert and finds the kids from the plane crash there's this one kid that's always to himself and paints his face very pale.

In the following movie Mad Max: Fury Road, the War Boys have a very similar look. Max also forms an emotional bond with one of the War Boys.

Is there possibly a connection between the two characters?

Is there anything definitive from the makers?

Are Mad Max movies connected?

There's no connection between them at all. This is the second time Miller has used a major actor twice in Max's films \u2014 Bruce Spence played two very similar but ultimately different characters in The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Is Scrooloose a war boy?

Scrooloose's appearance partially resembles the look of the War Boys (or War pups) of Mad Max: Fury Road. However, there is no connection between the two other than vaguely resembling skeleton-like looks through black and white make-up.

Why are the Warboys so pale?

While this would already give them a pale appearance, War Boys made themselves look completely white by covering their bodies in a white powder as a tribute to Immortan Joe, who used white powder as medication.
