What does "Skins" refer to?
There was a UK youth drama Skins for 7 seasons and I am wondering the name has any specific meaning? Or is it just "The thin layer of tissue forming the natural outer covering of the body of a person or animal." according to Oxford Dictionary?

In British slang a "Skin" is the type of paper used to make roll your own cigarettes and joints.
Further down the Oxford Dictionaries entry is this definition.
