Did Klingons develop Gunpowder Weapons?

Did Klingons develop Gunpowder Weapons? - Cheerful young woman hugging cute little girl and reading book together while lying in soft bed in light bedroom at home in daytime

Seeing the Star Trek TOS episode Season 2 Episode 19, "A Private Little War", it seems to imply that chemical propellant firearms are a common technological invention of young civilizations. The plot revolves around Klingons arming one village with flintlock smooth bore long gun, with a promise to upgrade to rifled long guns. At one point, the bridge crew have an (unwanted) discussion about the speed of technological advancement among different species.

Does this mean Klingons also developed the same weapons as humans, common gunpowder small arms?

What did Klingons look like in the original series?

In the original television series (TOS), Klingons were typically portrayed with bronze skin and facial hair suggestive of Asian people and possessed physical abilities similar to humans (in fact, Coon's only physical description of them in his "Errand of Mercy" script is "oriental" and "hard-faced").

When did Klingons get ridges?

Unfortunately these considerations became all more or less futile, seeing that Star Trek Enterprise exclusively showed ridged Klingons as early as in the 2150s, making it unlikely that they vanished until 2265, only to reappear vigorously until 2271.

Are Klingons Russian?

The Klingons were patterned on a mix of various warrior cultures, primarily Asian (hence Kor's somewhat Chinese facial hair) but with a scattering of Norse mythology thrown in.

What was the inspiration for the Klingons?

The TOS Klingons were patterned on the Mongols - I've heard references to them as the "Mongol Hordes of space". The TNG Klingons are a mix of Vikings in their love of combat and elements of Japanese in their fixation on honour and family - they even have a tea ceremony.
