We're experiencing a steady increase of programming being exclusively available on the Internet.

I want to better understand how the trend of online-exclusive media will change the awards systems. For example, are we moving toward a point where we would ever have a predominantly online-only list of nominees? Would there be a category devoted exclusively to this kind of content? Could there be an entire Emmy-caliber awards show solely for this format (other than the Webbys, etc.)?

Basically - does anyone have a good resource on this topic?
