In Infinity War, Thanos implies that the reason that he wants to kill half of all life is because life generally grows beyond its means. That is, if too many people are alive, then their will go beyond what their natural resources can comfortably maintain.

However, it is clearly stated that once he has the completed Infinity Gauntlet he is the most powerful being in the universe. Shouldn't he be able to just create more natural resources.

Why doesn't he just use his massive power to fix the problems that made him want to kill half the universe?

Why doesn't he just use his massive power to fix the problems that made him want to kill half the universe?

This is because he is trying to impress Death. He is in love with Death (death appeared as a female to Thanos) and he is trying to win her favor.

Growing in power and infamy as he traveled the universe, Thanos once met Death itself, as it appeared to him embodied in a female form. Thanos was infatuated with the being, and endeavored to make himself worthy in order to earn her love in return.

Why did Thanos not double the resources?

"He didn't double the resources in the universe because that's not what he's trying to accomplish, and also because he's an unhinged, sociopathic supervillain who is basically on a holy crusade. Thano's plan only has to make sense to him, and in terms of fitting his character, it's perfect."

Why did Thanos do what he did?

Thanos was a genocidal warlord from Titan, whose objective was to bring stability to the universe by wiping out half of all life at every level, as he believed its massive population would inevitably use up the universe's entire supply of resources and perish.

Why did Thanos wipe out half the population?

Thanos is a Titan, and he watched his home world die due to a lack of natural resources. There were too many people, but not enough food to feed everyone. His solution was simple, fair and brutal: He would kill half the population by random drawing.

How did Thanos come to the future without Pym particles?

Instead of having to duplicate Pym Particles, all Thanos had to do was duplicate the time GPS so Nebula had a signal to lock on to (since presumably she needed hers to return to 2023). Or, since she knew where the ship was, just pull it forward manually.
