Why isn't Slade ever referred to as "Deathstroke the Terminator"? - Free stock photo of alphabet, be a self starter, blur

In Teen Titans, Teen Titans Go, and Teen Titans Go to the Movies, the villain known as Slade Wilson is simply called Slade (Slaaaaaaaade) and is never referred to by his comic book alias, Deathstroke the Terminator, or even simply Deathstroke.

Why is this? Why can't he be called Deathstroke?

No official word I can find but it's widely speculated that it was done to keep the tone of the show kid-friendly. Even wikia said the same:

Slade's original comic name "Deathstroke" did not make it through the censors due to hesitance to use the word "death" in a children's animated series; thus, the character is referred to by his first name. However, his original name is mentioned in the tie-in comic Teen Titans Go! and in some foreign language versions of the show. He is also changed from an assassin and mercenary-for-hire to an enigmatic criminal mastermind.

But it's not sourced.

Why is Slade not called Deathstroke?

The name change might have been because the name "Deathstroke" fit more for an assassin whereas it was less fitting to the criminal mastermind character that Slade was portrayed as in the show. He is actually the only villain from the original comic to not use his original supervillain name.

Is Slade also Deathstroke?

Even though the character of Deathstroke the Terminator predates James Cameron's film The Terminator by four years, the Slade Wilson character is now simply called Deathstroke, even though he was initially introduced as "Deathstroke the Terminator" in his first appearance and usually referred to only as "the Terminator ...

Why did Deathstroke change his name?

Taking the name 'Deathstroke' for himself is an understandable move on his part - and a clever way of paying homage to Deathstroke's first appearances by Priest and artists Cary Nord and Jeromy Cox.
