In Logan Lucky, what was the explosion for?

In Logan Lucky, what was the explosion for? - White and Black Ship on Sea

During the heist in Logan Lucky, Joe Bang sends a homemade explosive mixture through a pneumatic tube into the money room. How does the explosive allow them to suck money out of the room?

Best Answer

There is a door or valve at the end of the pneumatic tube that closes after each batch of money is dropped into the vault. While that door is closed, pulling air out of the tube will not pull money out of the vault. When the door is destroyed by the explosive, air and money can be pulled through the tube.

Does the bomb in Logan Lucky work?

So, despite the convincing makeshift chemistry lecture Joe Bang delivers beneath the Charlotte Motor Speedway, it's safe to say that his explosive device probably wouldn't work. That being said, please don't try to replicate this device at home. It can't be stressed enough.

Why did he return the money in Logan Lucky?

The Bang brothers were insistent on taking a significantly larger cut of the profits than the Logans wanted them to, so by returning some of the money and keeping the rest, they likely came out of the heist with more money than splitting the entire amount between themselves and all of the brothers.

Is Logan Lucky a true story?

Considering the plot of this film seems to be the perfect combination of realist and comedic crime caper, it wouldn't be shocking if Logan Lucky really happened in actual life. But as it turns out, the events of this film, while seemingly ripped from the headlines, are totally fictional.
