Why did Ron want his picture taken with Duke and Jesse?
In Blackkklansman, Ron Stallworth, assigned as security detail to David Duke during his visit to Colorado Springs, asks Duke to have his picture taken with him because "nobody's gonna believe me when I tell them that I was your personal bodyguard today". He asks his incognito colleague Philip 'Flip' Zimmerman to take a picture of the both of them and incidental bystander Jesse:
Why did Ron do this?
Was it simply to provoke David Duke? Or to lure him into making a mistake, so they could take him in? Was it some kind of signal towards Flip, who afterwards praises Ron for it, telling him "that Polaroid stunt you pulled, when you put your arms around them, I swear to God I almost shit myself"?
