Why exactly did Summer break up with Tom? - Tired ethnic female in sportswear looking away while leaning on knees having rest after workout in park on sunny summer day

In '500 Days of Summer', we see that Tom & Summer are having good time together, until one day they go to see the movie, 'The Graduate'. During the movie we see that Summer cries profusely. After that everything changes. She tells Toms right away that they should stop seeing each other. And after that it is evident that she left the office ended all connections with Tom.

In the links to the wiki you gave it tries to explain this in the following paragraphs:

During the next few months Summer and Tom grow closer, despite Summer's telling Tom that she does not believe in true love, and does not want a boyfriend.

Shortly followed by:

On day 290, Summer and Tom end their relationship after they see The Graduate, a film which Tom thinks shows true love

Flipping over to the wiki for the graduate shows that this potentially ties in, though it is hard to take a quote which shows 'true love' I think this bit sums it up best:

With some hesitation, Elaine returns a cry of "Ben!" and rushes toward Benjamin. A brawl breaks out as everyone tries to stop her and Benjamin from leaving. Elaine manages to break free from her mother, who claims "It's too late!", to which Elaine replies, "Not for me!" Benjamin and Elaine escape the chapel by barring the chapel's double doors with a wooden cross, trapping the attendees inside

Why does Summer cry at the end of The Graduate?

there's a scene where Tom and Summer go and see The Graduate and she's bawling at the end of the movie. I'm curious what you all think is the significance of her crying. It obviously means something because it happens when he is remembering back all the signs for their relationship ending.

Is Tom or Summer the villain?

500 Days of Summer's tormented romance proved that Tom, not Summer, was the real villain of this heartbreaking story. In the 2009 indie rom-com, 500 Days of Summer, Zooey Deschanel's Summer was the one villainized, viewed by Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and his peers as an emotional vampire and user of sorts.

What was the point of 500 Days of Summer?

The film follows the fleeting office romance of Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel) as they bond over a mutual love of sad boy British music and IKEA. It employs a nonlinear format and flits between each of the 500 days until the love story and its ultimate demise come together for the viewer.
