Why does the priest have a full bottle of wine in The Sopranos S01E05?

Why does the priest have a full bottle of wine in The Sopranos S01E05? - From above of glass bottles placed side by side in rows in winery cellar

I was re-watching The Sopranos. In Season 1 Episode 5, With Carmela, the priest says that he has a communion kit because he went to see a (presumably dying) patient in the hospital (to give communion).

But the wine bottle is full. Is this a goof or was it intentional and means that the priest lied? (Or maybe something else?)

I doubt that Father Phil drove around with a communion kit to a clothing drive and then to Carmella on the off-chance that they have Communion for some reason and a sip of wine will get her in the mood. They drink wine anyway before that scene and do so casually, since Father Phil feels at home there and usually passive-aggressively helps himself to their amenities. He doesn't need to trick her like that.

So I think he was telling the truth, and the options as I see them are:

  • This is a goof and the writers\production simply didn't think this through;
  • The patient Father Phil was visiting either died or got better before he got there, so his services weren't needed after all;
  • Father Phil refilled the decanter somehow. Maybe he has some extra sacramental wine in his car for emergencies. This is conjecture, though.

Why did the priest throw up in Sopranos?

Now that it's just the two of them, Father Phil takes the opportunity to lean in for a kiss. However, the mood is broken before anything can happen. Like Meadow, Father Phil drank too much and darts to the bathroom to vomit.

What does the cat symbolize in the last episode of The Sopranos?

The cat symbolizes Tony's guilt over killing Christopher. Though he acts as if he's relieved by his nephew's death, of finally not having him on the family's hands, the murder eats at Tony's soul.

Why was there a bear in the Sopranos?

The bear represents the danger that lurks outside the Soprano household, something Carmela tries desperately to shield her family from. Generally, she seems ineffectual, but her actions to force the bear away are indicative of someone new emerging, someone who realizes she now must protect the family.

Why does Dr Melfi say Calling all cars?

Dr. Melfi uses the phrase "Calling all cars" when trying to reach Dr. Kupferberg after Tony quits therapy. The phrase is an old police radio dispatch call for all radio patrol cars to assist a fellow officer or to look for a suspect or situation.
